Perspective
From a village in Hanumangarh to the policy room. I still ask the same question of every policy: who has to do this, and what will make it work for them?
I grew up in Surewala, a farming village in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, and I still grow rice and other crops there. That keeps my thinking honest.
My path ran through menswear brands, a technology start-up and the inner circles of state politics before I moved to policy design and implementation. Each step taught me a different way to make complex systems legible — and to stay calm, direct and unbiased about what the evidence says.
